Scorton Creek Oysters was founded by Scott & Jennifer Mullin in 1996 when they were seniors in college. Scott had been a tuna fisherman and commercial shellfisherman who was looking for something more sustainable. Jenn is a teacher who pitches in on summer vacation and days off from school. Their two daughters, Dierdre and Brenna, work on the farm when their busy schedules allow.

In 2021 Scott and Jenn took on a partner, Rob Delaney, whose background in the hospitality industry promises to bring Scorton Creek Oysters to a new level.
